Video Technics Expands to Asia-Pacific with delaStream Partnership

Atlanta, GA (October 10, 2012) – Video Technics, based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and delaStream Solutions Pvt. Ltd. located in Nagpur, India today announce the signing of a sales and marketing arrangement under which delaStream will exclusively promote, sell, and support technology from Video Technics to the Asia-Pacific region.   The inking of this deal will mean that the entire portfolio from Video Technics consisting of ingest, asset management, editing, shared storage, archive, news and master control playout products will be locally sold and supported, providing delaStream Solutions with a complete end-to-end workflow of automation products for customers inside India and throughout the Asia-Pacific areas.

Apella™ Video Server, NewsFlow™, MCR.BOX™, and other Video Technics brand name products are to be sold as imported, US-built systems, or alternatively as a locally integrated hardware systems using software technology from Video Technics. Building the servers locally in India greatly improves customer support and provides a significant reduction in total cost of ownership for users in this market.

The Apella video servers are multi-channel HD/SD devices that support a mixed database of DV and MPEG-2 files. The compact 3RU chassis features front-loading hot-swappable drive bays with 16TB of internal raid storage. Virtually unlimited channel I/O can be implemented simply by networking Apella servers together.

Extensive native codec technology including DVCPRO HD, and MPEG-2 up to 300Mb/s, and support for mixed AVI, MOV, and MXF file types, allows media files in the VT database – regardless of SD/HD standard, compression format, or file type – to be played back-to-back from the same output channel.  

Apella video servers offer “out-of-the-box” workflow solutions for mission critical content management and automated multi-channel delivery. When fully integrated with the Video Technics asset management environment, the result is an efficient, multi-channel broadcast operation providing high quality and continuous on-air service, with a minimal amount of manual intervention.
