Enhanced Productivity
The VT Media Exchange Server (VTMX) is a 2RU chassis dedicated to running the VT Media Exchange application in a Windows 2008 Server environment. This server/application is dedicated to processing media file transfers from the VT News/Craft Edit Plug-In for Adobe® Premiere® Pro, VT HotFolder for Final Cut Pro and other NLEs, and optionally from the PathFire Digital Media Gateway (DMG) content server. Having an independent media exchange server increases file transfer availability, productivity, and overall system performance by facilitating network file transfers and, if necessary, transcoding – all without tying up any video or audio I/O from an Apella server.

With additional licensing, this feature supports full integration with the PathFire Digital Media Gateway (DMG) for News and/or Syndication Content. The VT Media Exchange has the ability to process multiple files simultaneously as they are received, which greatly improves overall productivity in getting new media to air.
